Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo Review: Naked & Color Me Happy
Herbal Essences has 2 dry shampoos that I bought a few months ago. I think they're both new, because I hadn't seen either in the drugstore before 2014! First up, Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo is a part of their new Naked hair care line. This line, including the dry shampoo is free of parabens and colorants. It features peppermint oil, which makes it smell minty fresh, and tapioca starch to absorb oil. I found that this dry shampoo sprays on clear and dries white, which makes it really hard for people with dark hair to work with. I typically spray a lot of dry shampoo on when it's clear, because I can't see it. Then, in 2 minutes I am overly sprayed with white hair. When I go to brush it, this formula clings to my hair and makes it hard to brush out. Each individual strand will look gray because it's coated in dried dry shampoo. The Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Dry Shampoo is meant for color protection and features a rose scent. It includes fewer ingredients than the Naked dry shampoo, and all of it's ingredients (besides scent) are also in the Naked dry shampoo. I preferred this dry shampoo over the naked one. I'm not sure why, but I just felt like it worked a bit better for my hair. It did have the same tendency to spray on clear and dry white on my hair, but it was a lot easier to brush out and I can even use myย hot rollers for thick hairย after this shampoo without any worry. This is one of the plus points from my side as I like my hair curly and glossy at all time. One issue I had with both of these dry shampoos was that after a while, even though there was a lot of product left, it wouldn't spray as a mist. It wasn't clogged from what I could tell, but instead of a fine mist it only sprayed a stream of liquid. I had to trash these for that reason! Both of these dry shampoos are very affordable- I got them each for about $7 at Target. I wouldn't repurchase these because they weren't my favorite dry shampoo I've ever tried, but I think they would be acceptable for blondes. If you're wondering, the best shampoo I've ever tried is Rene Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo. What's your favorite dry shampoo?
