FORVR Mood by Jackie Aina: Candle Review | Video
Today I'm pretty sad because I have a rare negative review...I was SO excited for these FORVR Mood Candles by one of my faves to watch on YouTube, Jackie Aina, but these candles unfortunately fell flat for me. Watch the above video for all of the tea, or read below for the cliffs notes!
FORVR Mood Candles
There are 4 candles in this first launchโ read below for the scent descriptions and my thoughts!
Matcha Business: Hazelnut Coffee, Almond Milk, Honey, Coffee, Lavender, and Vanilla. This scent is my least favorite and I absolutely HATE it. It smells like a cheap Bath & Body Works fall candle to me. It actually made me nauseous when I burnt it too.
Cuffing Season: This scent is the most well-balanced out of the collection with notes of Fresh Ozone, Salty Lemon, Mineral Citrus, Iris, Violet, Jasmine, Douglas Fir, Rain Forest Moss, and White Cedar. I like the scent of this but it doesn't really have a good throw in my opinion. Also, this one let off a ton of soot!
Left On Read: This candle smells exactly like any Pink LUSH product (think Creamy Candy Bubble Bar). The scent notes are Tropical Fruit, Coconut, Coconut Milk, and Caramel. I liked it more than I had anticipated, actually! This one didn't burn all the way to the edges during the first burn, but I feel like it'll correct itself.
Caked Up: Last but not least, caked up is the perfect almond cake scent. The notes include Roasted Pistachio, Almond Cream, Pineapple, Honey, Jasmine, Coconut, Vanilla Bean, and Musk. It's still a little too sweet for my taste, but it is a nice sweet cakey scent. This one also let off a ton of soot, as you can see a clip of in the video!
As far as all of these candles burnt, the "throw" was kind of all over the placeโ Caked Up and Matcha Business had the strongest throw for me, but the other two not so much. The biggest problem for me was the amount of soot coming out of the wick/flame which happened with two of the candles: Caked Up and Cuffing Season.
All of the scents are just so one note for me. They don't smell expensive or like someone that understands fragrance made them. I was honestly really disappointed as they're all just so cloyingly sweet. I definitely wouldn't recommend buying them unfortunately...such a bummer! And unfortunately, with the return policy, I would have been ineligible for a return before I even received the product since it's 14 days from the purchase date and I received them 3 weeks after purchasing, plus the fact that they're used. Oh well, I'll still burn them, but can't say I'll enjoy it!
